Introducing Premium Ads

We are happy to announce another update of the MiniAds site.

You can now upgrade your ad.
The upgrade options are: bumping the ad up, adding a border, icon etc.

Please go to http://miniads.ca/app/account/adsmanage and then click on Upgrade

Note: you must have at least one ad in order to see the Upgrade link.

Another update is that you can bookmark the current page.

We are happy to announce another update of the MiniAds.ca site.

The changes are the following

User accounts
Users can manage/suspend/resume/delete ads.
When an ad is suspended it will be removed from the listing within several hours.
To readd an ad one must resume it and it will appear in the listing within several hours.

Notes:

   1. To register go to http://miniads.ca and then use the "Register" link in the top right corner

   2. if you want your previous ads to appear in your account please contact us either by replying to this message or by visiting http://miniads.ca/local/contact
      We can find your old ads using the email you contact us from.

Points system
Users receive points when they do certain actions. Read more about the actions that give points http://miniads.ca/local/static/page/helppoints/
In the future users can use points that they have accumulated to *buy* premium services such as making an ad highlighted etc.

Ads Everywhere
Ads can now appear in multiple cities, provinces, or in the whole Canada.

Introducing Email 2 Ad

We've been working on a feature which allows you to send an email to a specific email address and the system will analyze the message and then convert it into an ad. It's so cool.

You can also attach files as long as they are from the following supported types/extensions :

jpeg,jpg,png,gif,bmp,tiff,psd,rtf,doc,txt,pdf,xls

It is important to know that the email address consists of a category ID and a city ID so make sure
you have selected your city.

Here are the instructions if you want to post an ad in St. Catharines

How to get to the email2ad help section ?

Please go to http://miniads.ca/ > Select a City > Help > Scroll down to "How to post an ad via email"

Quick Suggestion Box - An easy way to share your valuable feedback with us

Functionality for saving poster's contact info on current computer (Post Ad).
This will be helpful when somebody posts an ad and have his/her contact info saved.

Added alternating rows to improve readability and head rows are styled now

Added a quick an eazy way to change the city (thank you anonymous)
Changed top navigation colours to red (thank you anonymous)

What we've improved ?
- Now, you can post an ad in multiple cities at once. Here is how it looks like.
You've got to hold the control key while clicking to select more than one city.

- More descriptive error messages when posting the ad

Smart Logic: Auto prefill fields

Hello,

We have pushed another update.
So when the person finishes typing his/her ad (i.e. by moving to the next field) the system will analyze the ad content and extract some info such as email, phone, site, and price. The info will be inserted into relevant fields only if they do not have a value yet.
This should save you some time typing.
Smart, eh ?

Victoria Day 2010 Tweaks

Just want to give you a quick update.

If you use "-1" in the price field we'll treat that as price Not Applicable. It makes a lot of sense if you post about your service.

Oh, by the way, from now on, after submitting an ad, you'll receive an email containing a link to it.
So you can refer to it at a later time. So always make sure you're using the correct email.

We have been working very hard recently on some nice features.
They allow you to upload images (jpg,png,gif), documents (rtf,doc,txt,pdf,xls) or use external links to a web address.
You can also embed videos from video sites such as YouTube, Revver, Vimeo etc.
